Who really killed the West Memphis boys? Not, I believe, the three who were charged and did time for it. Not considered unsolved, but I studied the case during my adult college classes in mid 2000's and was shocked at flimsy and biased evidence.
Anxiously waiting for all of the new books coming in 2023!
The cold case I always followed that’s no longer a cold case. I lived in Phoenix during the time of the zombie killer murders. At that time we didn’t know that they were the zombie murders just that two young women had been horribly murdered on a public path. They found the head of the first victim in a canal near my office at the time. That has haunted me forever and I’m glad they finally know who is responsible. You never know what evil is waiting around the corner when you go out to do some innocent thing that you’ve done so many times before.
Wow! I need to look up that case now that I live in North Phoenix. Sounds terrifying. I grew up pretty sheltered in a small suburb between San Francisco and San Jose, two major cities. I've always been interested in true crime, ever since I read In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. I need to learn more about this case.
Yes, that’s the same one. I had a Google alert on one of the girls names because it had remained a cold case for so long. I was hoping that would be solved and I wanted to know when it was. I don’t live in the area anymore, but it always haunted me. Sounds like something Max revere would have looked into. 🙂 Sounds like something Max revere would have looked into. there are a few that happened up in the superstition mountains as well, but I don’t remember much about those anymore.
You know, after I replied, it made me think that it’s kind of like one of your stories. The bad guy is somebody who was on the fringes, even earlier when they looked at the crimes. There’s a suspicion that he may be involved in the disappearance of a little girl that happened before but I don’t remember that they have proof out on that. The killer’s name is Bryan Patrick Miller how was your skills I’m sure you’ve already figured that out.
Yes, I googled the case and read an article about it. I wrote a book called THE KILL where the bad guy borrowed a truck and killed a young girl, and the truck owner was convicted of the crime (a lot of evidence.) The bad guy got away with it for 20 years.
I love the new cover! A cold case that has haunted me is any of them in which children are killed or missing. I just can’t stand that little innocents are targets of evil people.
I have a hard time reading books about missing or exploited children because it makes me sad and angry at the same time. The books that you write are perfect and deal well with timely topics.
Elizabeth Miller - Teenager from Idaho Springs, CO. Went jogging one morning on Aug. 16, 1983 and has never been seen since. No physical evidence of any kind ever found. As a mother of daughters I have thought of her parents many, many times.
I just bought this book at Thrillerfest and was thrilled you could sign it there. I can't wait to dig in.
I remember! Thank you for coming by my table, I’m so glad you had fun at the conference.
Thank you. I love reading your books.

I'll definitely look at this one, I'm always interested in wrongful conviction stories. I've written one before ... though mine was wholly fiction.
I have three cold cases from my area
Sky Metalwala
Teekah Lewis
Kyron Horman
I'll have to look them up ... when I'm done writing the book I'm working on now! :)

The trial is going on now. Well, probably not on Thanksgiving but it’s happening now.
I just read about it! The trial will go into December. There's a podcast, True Crime Arizona, that is talking about it.

I love the cover and cannot wait for the book!!!!
The cover looks great. Can't wait!

I'm with you. I don't write a lot about missing children because it's really depressing, but I've touched on it.

Thank you -- I have a hard time writing about kids, too, and try hard to do it delicately when the story requires it.

I relate -- I have 3 girls and 2 boys and I always think about the parents. These crimes effect more than just the victim.
