I'm not sure if you have answered this before. I've followed you since the first books of Kincaids came out, before they sentered on Lucy. I'm just wondering if that road is closed or if there will be new books in that universe. Best regards, Jannicke from Norway
Hi Jannicke: Thank you so much for your note -- you've been a reader for a long time and I greatly appreciate it.
I love writing the Lucy Kincaid books. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer at this point. I WANT to write more books, but I needed to take a break after COLD AS ICE because I didn't have any fresh ideas for Lucy and Sean. I felt tapped out, and I knew that if I just kept writing the book, they wouldn't have the passion that the rest of the series had. Plus, I had ideas for other characters that excited me. So I put Lucy on hiatus. When I have the right idea that can carry a theme over multiple books, then I'll pitch the idea to my publisher. Based on my current schedule, this won't be for a couple of years.
Believe me -- I get a lot of email about Lucy and I want to continue, but I'm not going to write anything I'm not excited about. I felt Lucy had an amazing story arc from self-critical and nervous new FBI agent who still let her past define her, to a self-confident law enforcement officer who overcome her past and had developed a wonderful support system with Sean and her friends. So if I reboot the series, I need to make sure I can give Lucy and Sean another strong story arc.
Thanks for writing -- I wish I had a definitive answer. ~Allison
